About This Site

I was introduced to the fine art of handcrafted bootmaking as a little girl and it forever changed the way I looked at everything we wear and buy.

A few years later, when I was 12, I created a job for myself dusting collectibles at the only antique store within a 200 mile radius, just so I could hang out with owner-Matriarchs, Ruth and Helen, who gave me an awe-inspiring appreciation for design and the context within which things are made and used.

Both these experiences ignited an enduring passion for dedicated craft, inspired design and a compelling storyline.

And of course, delaCav is a direct expression of these personal inspirations, as well as those yet to come - which is where my little Blog here will take center stage ―as Narrator & Storyteller...

I'll share my experiences as a designer & entrepreneur and highlight the people, places and things that are turning me on as I pursue my passion and share a little truth, beauty, freedom and love... one pair of boots at a time.
